When is the best time to come?

Any time during open hours: Monday to Friday 9 AM to 6 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 2 PM. Joe's is closed Sunday. It is first come, first served, so there is no calendar to book.

Where can I get a smog check near Sun Valley?

At Joe's Drive Thru Smog Check™ Star Station, 10909 Burbank Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601, which serves Sun Valley drivers from this one location. Driving in from Sun Valley

Sun Valley folks have two easy ways down. Lankershim Boulevard starts at San Fernando Road in your neighborhood and runs south into North Hollywood; at the six way intersection with Burbank Boulevard and Tujunga, turn left, pass Vineland Avenue, and we are on the left at Cleon Ave. Laurel Canyon Boulevard works too, coming down past the quarries; turn left on Burbank and keep heading east. Weekdays are busy for a lot of people, so Saturday from 9 to 2 is a good time to swing by. Roll up, no appointment, and stay in your car for about 10 minutes.

Which cars can you test?

Model years 2000 to 2026, gasoline or hybrid, light duty, and no taller than 7 feet. That covers most cars, SUVs, pickups and vans. Diesel vehicles are not tested.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Joe's is a walk in drive thru with no appointments. Pull in during open hours: Monday to Friday 9 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 2 PM, closed Sunday.

How much is a smog check for Sun Valley drivers?

$60 out the door if your car passes: $51.75 for the inspection plus $8.25 for the certificate. That includes the electronic transfer to the DMV. There are no extra credit card fees.

Star, Regular, Change of Ownership, Hybrid, and Out of State smog checks, all at the same drive thru lane in North Hollywood.
